About Us     Vision     Church Plants
The Evangelical Free Church of America exists to glorify God by multiplying healthy churches among all people.

Church Planting, Church Health, and becoming a Multi-Ethnic movement of churches that reaches all people across the globe is at the heart of what it means to be part of the EFCA.

The EFCA is organized into ReachNational which gives leadership to national ministries, ReachGlobal which gives leadership to our international ministries, and TouchGlobal which gives leadership to our compassion ministries - both internationnally and nationally.

The Great Lakes District is the regional expression of the EFCA.  We serve the states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, western Ohio, and northern Kentucky.  More than 160 churches are part of the Great Lakes District.

Rick Thompson is the District Superintendent of the GLD.  He has served as a founding pastor, missionary to Russia, and District Superintendent.

Four Regional Superintendents serve churches by providing ministries of coaching, pastoral care, and consultation.

Brett Gleason serves as the Director of Church Planting for the Great Lakes District.

Start Churches serves as part of the ReachNational ministry arm of the EFCA which has over 1300 churches and nearly 200 church plants.

We serve in the United States where there are 240 million people disconnected from the church.  Healthy churches are the hope of our nation. The most effective way to reach disconnected people is to start new churches.

EFCA Start Churches is led by the National Church Planting Director, George Klippenes.
